Sometimes you get that feeling of Deja Vu. I have it right now. Maybe it’s because I feel like I’ve written this article before…oh wait, I have! Twice in fact. As I’m sure you MMOBombers have noticed, we’ve had some technical issues for the last day or two (our sincere apologies) and in the process of resolving those we lost a lot of news we previously published this week…so here I am once again writing to tell you that CD Projekt Red has moved GWENT, the free-to-play game pulled from The Witcher 3, into Closed Beta. Invites have already been mailed out for the testing phase and PC and XBox One players are already playing rounds while PlayStation 4 players will have to wait a bit.
“GWENT is an example of how the community can have actual impact on game developers. What we created as a part of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, is now, because of your involvement, a standalone game and a totally different experience that firmly stands on its own,” says Marcin Momot, Senior Community Coordinator, CD PROJEKT RED. “The Closed Beta is another step in the process — you can now help us shape the game into something you can call your own,” adds Momot.
