GameSpot 2016 Game of the Year Countdown Livestream

We've seen it all this year: fights for survival against alien threats. Road trips across fantastical open-worlds. Puzzles unfolding across colorful, remote, mysterious islands. And of course, we saw shooters. Shooters with robots. Shooters with demons. Shooters with robots and demons and rollerblading Brazilian DJs. And now, as 2016 comes to a close, it's time for us to announce the best of the best.

Every year, we count down the top 25 games of the year. From their core mechanics, to their art styles, to how they made us feel, each of GameSpot's favorite games earned their spot on our list. So, we're going to honor them. This is nothing new.

What is new, is how we're going to announce the top five. On Tuesday, December 20, we're hosting a five-hour livestream to give these games the attention they deserve. Beginning at 10 a.m. PST, we'll announce one game per hour, starting with number five, followed by a one-hour livestream for each reveal. When 2 p.m. rolls around, we'll announce our winner for overall Game of the Year.
