Enlisted Is A New "Fan Driven" FPS Published By Gaijin Entertainment

12/13/16

Remember that new project that Gaijin Entertainment teased with a live action trailer at the end of last week? It turns out that the project in question is, in fact, called "Enlisted." Developed by Darkflow Software and published by Gaijin Entertainment, the new game is a squad-based multiplayer FPS in which players play through "campaigns" that represent battles that lasted for weeks or months during World War II. The first two campaigns will be the Battle of Moscow and the Battle of Normandy, with more planned for the future. Thanks to Gaijin's Dagor engine, battles will be able to hold upwards of 100 players in a world with destructible environments. What's more, all characters and weapons used in each campaign are said to be historically accurate.

Crowdfunding began today alongside the announcement. Players are able to purchase "weapon packs," which provide them with "exclusive collector’s weapons," for $6.99 to $11.99. They are also able to purchase packs that come with a weapon and a campaign, which will cost anywhere from $20 to $25 based on the rifle they choose. Another pack is available for $50, granting access to both campaigns, three weapons, and early access to the Closed Beta version of the game, which is expected to go live in the second half of 2017. Crowdfunding goals include a third campaign set in Tunisia at $250,000 raised, players' choice of campaign at $500,000, players' choice of game module at $750,000, and an console release at $1,000,000.

Enlisted is an ambitious undertaking, unlike any game we have ever created. It will be a first person shooter decided by the fans, for the fans. They will have direct input into what we create, including things like campaigns, game modes, even which platforms after PC we will support.

You can read more about Enlisted on the official website or watch the video embedded below for an early look at in-game footage.
